It always feels too early to be talking about Christmas Gift buying, but the festivities are just over one month away.
Following on from our 2015 gift list, here’s a few suggestions which may help if you’re struggling for inspiration.
Boozy Baubles

Why nobody has done this before is a mystery, but that probably explains why Pickering’s Christmas Gin Baubles are in such demand.
Each coloured glass bauble is filled with 50ml of Pickering Gin and is supplied in a pack of 6 to hang from your tree.
Cracking Spirits

Drinks by the Dram have long been known for their huge selection of spirits available in small bottles, giving people the opportunity to taste great whiskies without forking out for a whole bottle.
The DbtD Advent Calendars normally feature in festive lists, but we hadn’t seen the Christmas Crackers before.
They come in a pack of 6 and are available with different booze configurations, as well as the obligatory party hat and terrible joke.
Classy Selection

Glengoyne make some very good, approachable whisky and this 5-pack Gift Set is the perfect introduction to the range.
The ‘vertical flight’ includes the 10, 12, 15, 18 and 21 year old expressions so there is something for every taste.
Exotic Vessel

We reviewed it recently, but it’s worth again mention the X FLASKS Original if you’re looking for a gift for a whisky or spirits drinker.
Available in 3 colours; silver, rose gold and gold, these seamless flasks certainly look the part and function brilliantly.
Whisky Concierge

Gift-buying assistance rather than a gift, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society has launched The Christmas Whisky Concierge service to help whisky shoppers chose an appropriate bottle.
There are sessions being held from 22nd November in the Society’s Kaleidoscope Bar in Edinburgh, or you can chat to some directly by phone or live chat on the website.
The Society has also posted an ‘Ultimate Christmas whisky gift guide’ on its website.
Gin with a twist

Finally, bridging the gap between Gin and Whisky is the excellent Firkin Gin.
Firkin take their base London Dry Gin and matures it for a period in an ex-whisky cask. The result is an unusual and very tasty spirit.
This Limited Edition ‘Islay Rested’ expression is the first of an experimental batch of Gins, has been matured in an ex-Laphroaig cask to give a smoky kick to the juniper flavours.
Definitely one to seek out if you’re looking for a slightly alternative gin or whisky gift.
